Wow, 500 posts on this little ol' blog of mine! I'd like to thank every one of you for following me, whether you've been here since the beginning, or this is the first post you're reading, it means a lot!
To celebrate, I am going to giveaway THREE one month long ad spaces to three of you lovely folks. But that's not all, I will also be giving away TWO pairs of earrings to two lucky people. Lastly, one person will win a $25 voucher for the Knit, Nicole, Knit shop! I am working on some new items to put in there, so you'll have an awesome selection. The voucher can be used on the cost of shipping. If you want more than $25 worth of goodies, I will send the winner a paypal invoice for the difference.

Happy Monday!

This past weekend has been crazy! We finally got our liquor license at work, so people have been coming in and getting fancy drinks all day, Saturday and Sunday. I didn't sleep well, so I look a little groggy. Yes, groggy, I guess that's the nice way of putting it. I did a bunch of laundry last night, and I still have more to do today.

The prize a pair of earrings of your choice from my shop! There are 20 pairs in there right now, but I will hopefully be adding more in the coming days. It may take up to a week for that to happen, but there will certainly be more to choose from when the contest closes.

Super Spur Of The Moment VIDEO BLOG!!!

Some time in April, I entered a contest held by Lanitium Ex Machina to win $50 worth of hand dyed yarn. Well, I won!!! It felt like a while since I entered the contest, but now that I look at the date of the draw, it's really only been about three weeks.
This is what happened when I opened it. I do sincerely apologize to Nea for butchering the name of this lovely company, and for the generally crappy quality of the video. I was so excited about the yarn that I had to share right away.

I encourage you to take a look at the Etsy Shop and order some gorgeous yarn. It's very well priced, and the colours are phenomenal.

Self portrait Monday: April 18, 2011

Happy Monday! It is past the middle of April, and it is SNOWING! I couldn't believe it this morning when I checked Twitter, and then took Winston outside. He loves it! It's not that cold out, so it's not all that bad.
I've been working on lots of dishcloths lately. Most of them have some sort of textured stripes, but some are just plain.
I finally went to the city library last week and got myself a library card. I took out seven(!!!) books, and have flipped through most of them already. I am reading Dogfight, A Love Story, by Matt Burgess right now. I also have a hold on Knitting Circle by Ann Hood. I am looking forward to that one, as well.
I ordered some buttons from Wicked Wool Gathering on Etsy. Her prices are awesome, and I can't wait till I get them. She doesn't just sell buttons, either! She has all sorts of other things, too. I definitely encourage you to check her out.
I am going to be holding a contest here on my blog very soon. I need to list some more items first. And, well, make them too! I have plenty of knitted items, but no back stock of button earrings. I also need to photograph some of my smaller knitted items. Gah, I've been so lazy!

Self portrait Monday: April 4, 2011

Happy April! I was planning on doing a once a day posting for this month, but we all know how that turned out last time.

I took some more photos of earrings this morning, during cloud breaks. It's been kind of icky out there, and good lighting has been difficult. Rick is going to do some editing on them, and I will have them in the shop throughout this week.
I'm starting yoga this afternoon. I bought a Groupon a while back for one month of unlimited yoga at a nearby studio. I am finally getting around to using it, and I am super excited. I've never done yoga before, so I'm a bit nervous, too.
I haven't been knitting a whole lot lately. The main reason for this is that my storage for all my finished objects is over full. I don't want to knit more stuff, and have nowhere to put it all.

My First Contest!

I've been wanting to do a contest for a while, and I finally have the time to actually do it.
I am giving away a free year* on Flavors.me!! I have my main page, Knit, Nicole, Knit! made there, and it is super easy to use. This is my website, and it took me all of 2 hours to set up.

I'm a winner!

The other day, I got an email from Robyn of Knit & Purl Mama saying that I won a prize in her blog giveaway! I got a second email a short time later with a TON of sock patterns in it! Super cool, they are all pretty neat looking socks. Unfortunately, I am not a sock knitter! I asked Robyn if I could pass the patterns along in a contest on my own blog. She gave me the OK, so that is what I will do!
I will be having a small contest on my blog with a couple prizes in the near future. I have to get some stuff worked out (cost of shipping actual prizes will determine how many I will have) and then I will start it up!

Dear readers,
I am thinking of doing a giveaway. I have quite a few knitting books, and I don't think I will ever use some of them.
For those of you that have done a giveaway in the past, is it hard to do? Is shipping for the books expensive? (especially from Canada, to the U.S)
How do you decide how to do the giveaway?
