Monday Update: April 1, 2013

No April Fool's joke here! But I did nearly forget to update today! I worked this morning, and that always throws me for a loop. I much prefer afternoon shifts, but I'm getting a mix of them lately. I'm taking what I can get, to be honest. My hours were nearly non existent for a while, so now that I'm getting over 20 a week, I can finally breathe again. My budget was so tight it squeaked for a while, and now I can finally afford everything I need.
Onto the knitting! I assembled a bunch of bow rings this past week. I've been cranking them out for a while, and I made quite a few. I listed a bunch in the shop, and I'm really happy with them. Go take a look! I have a few more that I didn't photograph for whatever reason, so I will hopefully be taking their glamour shots soon, and get them listed as well.
Are there any colours of bow rings you'd like to see? I have tons of yarn to choose from. I rearranged some of the stash so a lot of it is more easily accessible now.
I also got an order from my friend who got the pink headband with the white flower. Some of her coworkers wanted hair bows like hers, so I put those together. This is the whole order. Lots of reds and pinks. Super cute, I think! They're basically the same as the ring, but a bit larger.
In other exciting news, I'm trying something new to sell. I'm knitting it right now, and I'm hoping to have it done in the next couple days. I'll talk more about it another day.
In other, other exciting news, at some point this week, or early next week, I will have a super awesome thing to share with you. I'll be reviewing a product, and you'll have a pretty sweet coupon code.

A New Old Project, Of Sorts

If you've been following my blog for a while, you may remember that a couple years ago, I made a bunch of hair bows to bring to Made In Windsor. I decided to bring the bows back so I have some variety at my spring/summer shows. I'm making them a little differently this time around, which is making them a little quicker to make. They're pretty simple, but I think they're super cute.
I'm hoping to have a whole rainbow of these made in time for my April show.
I'm planning on looking through Ravelry for some inspiration for other smaller items that are warm weather friendly.
Any suggestions?

Another photo from the Made In Windsor Holiday Store

I just came across this picture in the group that Rick took of the store. Before I go on, I just have to say how great he is. He came out to the store to help set everything up. The one night he came, he came back to the apartment to pick up random things we needed (a desk lamp, speakers, tape etc etc etc) as well as dinner for me, among other things. He came back to the store the next day to take photos of everything. The lighting up there in the Attic is weird, at best, and took some great shots regardless.
My iiPhone/iPod cases are right at the top, with my hair bows right below. I haven't sold any yet, but I am hoping that I will soon.
The adorable owls underneath are Made From Scratch. She makes adorable stuff. Jewelry, owls, pillows, the list goes on. She is incredibly talented.

The Holiday Store is going so well. I really hope all of the artisans sell a ton of stuff.

iPhone cases, and other such things

These are my latest two iPhone cases. They're made from some REALLY brightly coloured yarn that I got from Wal-Mart close to 5 years ago. The one on the left is way pink-er than it looks. It has a couple rows of stockinette thrown in there to add some interest. The blue one is pretty close to the actual colour.
I am managing to get through these pretty quickly, The pink one was started late last night, and finished today. I had to take apart a scarf that I'd made a couple years ago (and luckily never sold) so that I'd have enough of the yarn to finish it. I now have enough of that same colour to make quite a few bows and such, too.
I have been in a pretty fantastic mood the past few days. So many good things have been happening lately.
On that note, I may be absent for a few days. I just ordered a MacBook, and I should be getting it tomorrow. It's going to take me some time to get used to it, so I'm not sure when I'll be posting again.

The Hair Bows

Yesterday, I worked at Made In Windsor for the afternoon. I brought in more stock to sell, which I have mentioned here before, but never posted a picture.
These are the hair bows I've made in the past little bit, all packaged up and ready to go. They're just clipped onto pieces of cardstock that was in the scrap paper pie at the store. The top centre one was the first one that I made that I was satisfied with. They other ones are all a bit larger with a narrower band. I think I may make some multi-coloured ones soon. We will have to see.
