Knitting with Sam

As most knitters know, any social event with the main goal being to accomplish some knitting does the exact opposite. Sam and I had a knitting date on Sunday evening. My goal was to finish my pink ribbon dishcloth, and one coffee cup cozy. Which were both almost finished, anyway.

I had been wanting to give Sam some of my yarn for ages. I have alot. And most of it is small-ish bits... I also found some random balls of yarn that were all sorts of bits that were tied together end to end. I decided to take those apart. It ended in this. Thats only about half the yarn. There's a ton more. I took apart one of the two balls.

Sam was knitting her cat fishies. She finished 4 while she was at my house. These are the four she made.

Some other dishcloths

My main item that I sell is dishcloths. I have made a ton of them, and sold many.

Here are the colours I currently have in stock. (back to front: black, rainbow, burgundy/cream/navy, pink varigated, blue/white/yellow, rainbow pastel, salt and pepper)

These are the dishcloths EVERYONE knits. The easiest pattern I have ever used.

I also have awareness ribbon cloths. I got the pattern Here. Its pretty easy, just knit and purl stitches, but I have a hard time remembering to do so at the right times. The pink one is much closer to being done. A little more detail here. Once again, you can tell I hate weaving in ends!

Knit Fishies

This is what Samantha has been up to.

Little knit fishies. Cat toys, obviously! From what she has been posting, they're really simple. Made from this pattern, I'm hoping she can get alot of cat toys made and have a booth at the craft show!

Make it up as you go along.

Last night, I went out for coffee with my friend Jessica. I knit her a scarf a little while back out of Lion Brand Homespun in Florida Keys Green. Simple garter stitch. The only problem I found with it is that weaving in ends is fairly tedious. (I plan on knitting an afghan out of this in the future, I have the yarn and needle already, I just ahve to cast on) Jess showed me a problem with the bound off edge. Basically, it came undone, and started to ladder. I had no needles to fix it with, so, being at Second Cup, I got 2 stir sticks and re-knit a few rows. She has a picture of me doing it, but I havn't gotten it yet.
I guess you have to use what you have available, right?

In honour of Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was Thursday. I didn't get to spend it with my sweetie because I had pottery class.

I did knit a heart cloth, though. I finished it a few days before V-Day. I don't know if I like the pattern or not. It's a SUPER easy pattern, I just don't know if I like the look of the heart.
Either way, it's going to be sold at my upcomming craft show. Saturday March 15th. I still have a lot of knitting to do for that! And finishing! I hate finishing... You can see the ends in the cloth.

Welcome!

Hello readers!
I'm Nicole, and this is my knitting blog! I do have an other blog, over at Livejournal, but it was starting to get cluttered with knitting related entries, and most of my friends are non-knitters.
I will be posting pictures of what I am knitting eventually, but right now, my camera is missing in action, and probably battery-free.
If anyone has any questions, comments, suggestions etc, feel free to let me know!
