I think it's a cowl...

I started knitting a new project a couple days ago. It's made with Briggs & Little "Heritage" wool in Red heather and Blue Heather. I purchased this WOOL over 5 years ago on a trip to New Brunswick. I have gone "out East" with my family on 2 separate occasions, and visited yarn stores on each trip. Anytime I go anywhere, really, I look out for yarn stores. (this is all before I started blogging, so there are no back entries to search though!)
I have not known what to do with it until just recently.
I cast on for a cowl, but it may turn into a felted bag, if I have enough.

An important update!

I went back to the old way of feeds on Google Following. Which means you do not have to click through to the blog to read the entire post. I'm glad I got feedback, and sorry for the inconvenience!

In other news, I am starting a once monthly craft night, called Oh, C.N.A.P! (Craft Nights At Phog). WE will be meeting the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 and you are welcome to bring your craft of choice. Phog is a huge supporter of everything local, and as soon as I was ready to set this in motion, I approached Tom, and he was quite enthused. I will be knitting at the meetings, so you can expect to see some CNAP stuff here, as well!

Just so you know!

I have modified the way my posting works if you read my blog in Google Reader. I have changed a setting so only part of the post is shown, and you have to click the title to see the rest of it. I prefer blogs that are posted in this manner when I read them, and I'm hoping you do as well!
If I get a lot of requests to change it back, that's not a problem, I will.
Also, Sunday is a busy day for me, and I will not have time to start something new, let alone post about it! I am still working on the Blossom scarf, and a dishcloth or 2 and one square. I do plan on starting something at some point this week, and I will post about it then!

The Squares! (Finally)

Thursday night, I went to Samantha's for a knitting night/secret society meeting. We knit, recorded videos, goofed around and played games. Knitting nights are always a blast for the simple reason that it gives us an excuse to get together.
Obviously, not much knitting happened, but Samantha did take pictures of my B4C squares.

I am hoping to make more of these squares real soon!

The Secret Society Meeting

Tonight, we are having a knitting night/secret society meeting at Samantha's house. It really is a secret as to what is going on, because I don't even know yet!
All I do know is that I will return with a completed dishcloth, and pictures of my recently finished squares!
I was wondering if any of you, dear readers, have knitting nights with your friends? I know there are a lot of public knitting circles, but what about getting together with just your good friends to catch up, and hang out?

Twitter!

I am a Twitter user. I admit it. At first, I was a little confused about what it's purpose was, but now, I update it a couple times a day.
My user name is DistillingWater and I invite all of you to follow me! I do want to warn you that I do, on occasion, use some mild language, and not all of my Tweets are about knitting!
Happy following!

Start Something Sunday

Welcome to Sunday! Today is a lazy day for me. Sitting around in my pyjamas, visiting my boyfriend, knitting and playing video games.
I have been up for a little while already, and I started a new scarf. This one is in the Blossom colorway, same as the rest of the Thick & Quick scarves. Even though it is slowly starting to warm up (despite the surprise snowfall yesterday!) I love knitting scarves. They are perfect TV knitting, being mostly portable, easy to look away from and generally, fairly repetitive.
I have also been keeping up with my B4C squares. Sam and I are planning to have our very own knitting night soon. It's just a matter of getting together on a night we both have free!
I am working on a knitting project of sorts. It's taking a lot more time than I expected, but once I figure out all the details, you can be sure Ill update all of you!

I am making progress!

I have still been knitting, despite funeral home visits, tears and lack of motivation. I am up to a total of FIVE Blankets 4 Canada squares, with an other almost finished. I am trying to make them all different by combining two yarns for each one. I don't want to duplicate squares, because that's not as much fun!
I am trying to have ten squares finished for the next meeting (almost a month away). I will be incredibly happy if I reach this goal!
In other knitting news, I've been working on dishcloths off and on. They're a really portable project, so I have been bringing them in the car with me on long and short trips.

Funny how things can change...

That last post was supposed to be published in the afternoon, but once again, something went goofy.
Since that post, I found out my grandmother passed away. I may not blog for part of this week, but right now, I'm just taking everything as it comes.
Unlike many people, I didn't learn to knit from Grandma. But I did learn many things from her. This includes how to pick the best Bingo cards, when to pick raspberries and most of all patience.
Rest in peace, Grandma Calhoun

A new square!

No surprise here, it's Sunday and I started something new! I finished an other square yesterday, so I had my B4C needles empty and waiting for something new. I dug through my stash and found 2 small balls of eye lash yarn in blue/green colourways. I didn't think either one would be enough to make one square, so I am striping the two. I am holding them both with the same skein of white worsted weight the whole way through. So far, I haven't had any huge issues with tangles, and I am hoping to avoid them.
I will soon post pictures of all the squares I have done so far. I am trying to make each one different, and I have enough yarn to do this for at least 50 squares! The next meeting is tomorrow night, I'm going to bring all the squares I have in and they will help make a blanket to keep a Canadian warm!

Not so much knitting...

I haven't been knitting much lately. I have been working on the B4C square, but not much else. I have, however, been sitting under my blanket. And I have had to fight with every member of my family to get MY blanket back from them.
Apparently, this blanket, even though it's somewhat small, is everyone's new favourite.
I am hoping to knit more blankets in the near future, but storage is becoming an issue. All my stash now fits in the storage I have for it. Nothing is on the floor, in a plastic bag or otherwise. And that, although nice, is stopping me from buying anymore yarn until I do have storage for it.

Start Something Sunday

I went shopping with my Mom yesterday and I brought a square I started to work on when we were driving. It was an awesome blue-green paired with a regular white. It looked great at first, then I realized I hated the colours held together.
It was frogged and the needles were put aside so I could start an other square with them. Which I did today. It's the same regular white, held together with an unknown novelty yarn in yellow, purple, blue and green. I just started it an hour ago and I'm already about half way done!

PS. Sorry for the goofyness of some of the posts. I don't know what happened, but I had to delete a couple entries that were all mixed up.
