A Sale In The Shop
Getting towards the end of the month, many people feel a financial stretch when all the bills and rent are due. I'm included in this bunch. To make things a little easier, I'm giving a 15% discount in my Etsy shop with the code RentIsDue15. Also, if you spend $20 or more (before shipping) you will get a free pair of earrings in the colour of your choice. Tell me what colour you want in the Notes To Seller section, and I will do my best to accommodate your request!

Confidence
Lately, I have really been thinking about turning knitting, and creating as a whole, into a full time job. I don't have the focus or time, currently, to be able to promote and create as much as I'd like to. I know if I had a set schedule from week to week, I could better use my time to create, photograph, list and promote.
What is making me think of this more now, than usual is what has happened in the past couple days.
Without any sort of effort on my part, I've sold four pairs. Two of them were to a woman that has purchased some in the past. The other two were pure luck. I had all my earrings with me in a large bag, so that the first woman could pick the ones she wanted. When I met the second, we talked about handmade, and knitting, and then I said I made earrings. Immediately, she asked to see some. I said I had them with me, out of pure coincidence. She went through them quickly and pulled out two pairs and purchased them immediately. I was floored, and incredibly excited! This woman, who I'd never met, liked my things! And we weren't in a shopping environment!
These two purchases really gave me a boost of confidence.
Lately, I've also been included in several treasuries. I've been keeping track of them here, if you want to check them out. Many of them were made by members of a treasury team I am a part of. But others are from people who happened to come across my items in some way. If I could list more items, I'm sure I could get into more treasuries, and in time, get more hearts, and more sales.
I really want to make a full time living from this. I just need an extra push.

Today is A Great Day!
When my life takes a turn for the better, I want to try to mark it down so I can look back when things are kind of crappy. This is one of the rare days where everything seems to go great. Even Winston (our dog) seems to be cooperating!
Two days ago, I started taking yoga at the aptly named Downtown Yoga. Like I mentioned a couple days ago, I bought a Groupon ages ago, and I finally put it to use. I am sore, but I feel awesome. I am going to attempt to take three consecutive classes tonight. The first is slow, the second is hot power yoga, and then the third is meditation. If I can do this, and do alright, I will make sure to fit this into my schedule every single week.I listed one pair of earrings this morning, and before I could even post about them anywhere, they sold! I need to edit some more pictures and list more. Rick did a few photos for me, but he is so much of a perfectionist, that it ends up taking him a super long time to do them. I will do a quick edit on some of the photos I took so I can list more. Editing and photographing is the most difficult part of having a shop, for me. I have no idea what I am doing most of the time, so I end up just doing a few basic things to make the items pop a little more.
I am also listing some baby booties. There are only a few pairs right now, but more are coming. I am also going to try to add some hair bows and iPhone cases over the next few days. It's been rainy and gloomy outside, so as long as I can get a few hours of sunshine to take some photos, they will happen!
How are things with all of you?
Don't forget about my contest!

I Have Sold my First Item On Etsy!
Within four hours of listing my first 12 items, I sold a pair of earrings! These red buttons are my favourite pair that I've made so far. I was tempted to keep them for myself. I may have to keep a pair I make out of the matching pink buttons that I have waiting.
A lovely young lady from New York purchased these after seeing them come up in the search results. I find this really encouraging. These earrings stood out enough for her to want to buy them, without any sort of advertising or promotion.
I am going to list a few more pairs at some point today. I will also be photographing some smaller knitted items in a couple days to post, as well. I still need to pick up shipping supplies, so I am ready if I get any more orders in the next little while.
